Lawan, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Ola Awoniyi, in Abuja on Wednesday, said he joined the family, friends, political associates of the governor and the entire people of Yobe in celebrating the occasion.
Lawan spoke on Thursday at the Nigeria/International Monetary Fund Article lV Consultation virtual exercise.

Lawan gave the assurance on Thursday at plenary after the Senate was briefed by the Senate Leader, Yahaya Abdullahi (APC – Kebbi North) on the intervention by the leadership to wade into the matter.
Lawan stated this in his concluding remarks on a matter of personal explanation into the murder of Jimoh Isiaka by the Police, and attack on the Palace of Soun of Ogbomoso Land during the recent #EndSARS protest in some states across the country.
The confirmation was sequel to the consideration of a report submitted by the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, chaired by Senator Opeyemi Bamidele.

Lawan met with a delegation from ASUU, led by its President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, at the National Assembly to discuss the lingering crisis, which has made it impossible for some Universities to reopen after the COVID-19 lockdown.
Lawan said with the courageous decision to dissolve the police unit, the President and his government have shown themselves as responsive to the feelings of the people.
Lawan also congratulated the All Progressives Congress on the victory of its candidate at the election, saying the triumph was well-deserved and heartwarming.

Lawan gave the charge on Thursday in a welcome address delivered during the presentation of the 2021 budget estimates by President Muhammadu Buhari at a joint session of the National Assembly.
The President is expected to present the Budget proposal to a Joint sitting of the Senate and the House of Representatives
Lawan stated this during a valedictory session on Tuesday in honour of the lawmaker, who until her death represented Cross River North Senatorial District.
He made the remark during Wednesday’s plenary session on the backdrop of Nigeria’s Diamond Jubilee celebration on October 1, saying that the theme of the 60th independence anniversary — “Together”, was apt.
