Onjeh, who lost to former Benue Deputy Governor, Steve Lawani, in his bid to clinch the party’s ticket to contest in the 2019 general elections, said the polls were marred by irregularities.
The reaction of the party was based on Dan-Ali’s position that the attack on two communities in Benue State that led to the death of over 73 persons and destruction of properties worth millions of Naira was as a result of the open grazing prohibition law enacted by the State Government.
In a statement issued in Abuja, Yaro decried the recent killings as an attempt to spark a second Civil War in Nigeria, insisting that it is a clear case of ethnic cleansing around the Benue Valley, which must be stopped immediately.
