The Supreme Court has upheld the election of Ayo Fayose as the Ekiti State Governor.
The court ruled on Tuesday morning in favour of Fayose in a case brought against him by the All Progressives Congress, whose candidate, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, lost the election.
The APC had gone to the highest court of the land seeking a determination of whether Fayose was still qualified to stand for election despite his indictment by a panel and whether by virtue of the alleged partiality of the military in the 2014 election, the outcome should still be allowed to stand.
