The Confederation Africaine de Football(CAF) said it had been in contact with the Libyan and Nigerian authorities after it had been informed that the Nigerian National Football Team (‘’Super Eagles’’) and their technical team were stranded in disturbing conditions for several hours at an airport that they were allegedly instructed to land by the Libyan authorities.
According to CAFonline, the football authority said the matter had been referred to the CAF Disciplinary Board for investigation.
It then promised that appropriate action will be taken against those who violated the CAF Statutes and Regulations.
Recall that the Nigeria’s national team, the Super Eagles, were reported a while ago to be boarding for their homeward journey after they were stranded for several hours at an airport in Libya unattended to.

The team said they feared for their safety to play the return leg of the AFCON qualifier scheduled for Tuesday in Libya.
