In fulfillment of his covenant with God, the Executive Director of the Ondo State Football Agency, Mike Idoko, has sowed the Chrysler car gift presented to him by the Chairman of OSFA, Chief Segun Adagunodo, to his God.
Adagunodo had promised the car as a gift to Idoko if he was able to lead Sunshine Stars to the continent last season.
Idoko not only led the team to play in the continent but Sunshine Stars got to the semi final of the CAF Confederation Cup in their first attempt.
Last season, the team also finished in the second place in the Nigeria Premier League, which automatically gives them a ticket in the lucrative CAF Champions League, where they are scheduled to meet Stade Malien of Mali in the first leg third round this weekend in Bamako.
And just last week, Adagunodo made good his promise when he presented the bus to Idoko at a ceremony in Akure.
Explaining the reason for giving the car to God, Idoko said it was a covenant he entered into with God that if the chairman fulfills his promise of car gift, he was going to sow it as a gift to God.
He said: “It is not the pastor that I gave the car but to God.
“It is a fulfillment of the covenant I entered into when the chairman promised me the car.
“I challenged God that if He can make it possible for Sunshine Stars to play in the continent, the car my chairman promised me would be delivered to God.”
