The chairman of Ondo State Football Agency, Chief Segun Adagunodo, has once again lamented the gang-up against his teams, Sunshine Stars and Rising Stars, claiming the Nigeria Premier League was bent on sending them out of the league.
Adagunodo said the event that preceded their game with Warri Wolves last weekend has clearly justified his suspicion that there is conspiracy against the two teams under his agency.
He claimed that prior to the game against Warri Wolves in Ijebu-Ode last Sunday, one of the Personal Assistants to the NPL Chairman, Chief Rumson Baribote, “was caught telling the centre referee that he must do everything possible to ensure we lost the match.
“Initially, I disregarded the report from one of my officials but in the course of the game, it dawned on me that the referee was indeed playing a script.
“The officiating was clearly against my team and I wonder if Baribote is fighting Akinbobola, why is he using Sunshine and Rising as chest board?
“After the SFG settled the football crisis, we thought solution has finally come but with what the NPL is doing, they are opening wounds and I pray it doesn’t boomerang.
“Sunshine has not done anything to warrant punishment, so the NPL should direct their anger at Akinbobola and not our teams.
“As I am talking, our Governor, His Excellency, Olusegun Mimiko, is not happy with the negative reports.”
