The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, will on Thursday declare open the 96th Islamic Vacation Course of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, B Zone in Ibadan, Oyo State.
A statement issued by the MSSN B Zone Coordinator, Alhaji Mushafau Alaran, and made available to newsmen in Ibadan, stated that the theme of the IVC is: “Survival.”
Alaran said that the opening ceremony would hold at the permanent site of the MSSN at Molisa Village, kilometre 30, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The statement added that the Sultan, who is the President-General of Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, would be accompanied by prominent Islamic leaders in the South West, including Alhaji AbdulAzeez Arisekola-Alao and Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the Deputy President General and Secretary General respectively of the NSCIA.
Alaran said that Alhaji Shuaib Salisu, the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, would deliver the lecture at the conference.
Other expected guests are Amosun; the governors of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola; and Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
Over 7,000 Muslim students are converging on Ibadan for the 96th edition of IVC starting from December 22 to January 1, 2014.
