Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan and returning Stationery Stores of Lagos will on Thursday rekindle their age-long rivalry when the two former elite clubs clash in one of the many mid-week matches in the ongoing Nigeria National League.
Also, high-flying Niger Tornadoes will ambush visiting Adamawa United in Minna, Niger State in what looks like a consolidation match after back-to-back victories to lead the pack in Division A, even as Jigawa United who will have to pay series of fines because of crowd trouble is set to battle formidable Plateau United at home.
Jigawa will have to win this one if they want to survive the season.
But all eyes will be at the Onikan Stadium, Lagos where old enemies Shooting Stars will play as guests to Stores, popularly called Flaming Flamingoes or Super Stores, by its followers, especially Lagosians who will come in large numbers to support their team against a determined home side.
There are many other mouth-watery matches across the country, with another thriller expected in Jos where Mighty Jets will be host to Ranch Bees of Kaduna, while the Coach Henry Nwosu-tutored Gateway FC travel to Omoku to meet Go-Round FC.
