It has been nine months since Ayogu Godwin, a 300 level Economics student of The Cape Coast University, was brutally murdered.
The Government promised the family of deceased that the killers would be found and brought to book but the Ayogu family are yet to see justice prevail.
News that the killers had been caught and were facing trials was a good step towards the “justice” promised by the Government and the Ayogu family was hoping for the right result of the trials but it is such a sad thing that the Ghanian Government has failed to do the one thing earlier promised.
Joshua, the younger brother, said he was happy and felt that his bother, Godwin, could now rest in peace when he heard the news that the culprits who were sadly his friends had been apprehended and were facing trials.
Joshua’s little joy was a shortlived one though. He met his dad in church on aThursday morning and found him crying. When Joshua asked why, his dad replied saying it was the testimonies of members of the church that touched him, but Joshua didn’t buy that excuse and went on to find out why his dad was crying. He found out that the culprits of his brothers death had been discharged.
This news opened up a wound that had began healing in the Ayogu family, bringing back the pain and also health issues for the mother who now is under medications for high blood pressure.
What excuse does the Ghanian Government have this time that could heal this wound? Or is the Government planning on sweeping the case under the mat? But as they say: GOD WILL JUDGE!!!
