Genk of Belgium sensational Stephen Odey has dedicated his Champions League debut goal against defending Champions League champions, Liverpool to his mum.
Odey came off the bench in the 81st minute for fellow Nigerian forward Paul Onuachu who started the game for Belgian club Genk.
Odey was booked in the 84th minute for a foul, before netting the consolation goal for Genk in the 88th minute.
Beating world class Brazilian goal keeper, Allison Becker with a swift turn and a sublime finish. On a night, where Liverpool put four goals past Genk at the luminous arena.
The former MFM FC striker, who took to twitter yesterday wrote;
“Not the result we wanted but it ended that way. Hoping to get a better result in our next meeting and a goal.
“I will like to dedicate my first ChampionsLeague
goal to my mum who marked her birthday on Tuesday as a birthday gift.
“Thanks for guiding me in the right path.”
