Ebere Amaraizu, a Director on the Nationwide League One Board, on Tuesday said all stadiums to be used for NLO matches must henceforth have facilities for television coverage.
Amaraizu told the News Agency of Nigeria in Enugu: “The 2017/2018 NLO matches must be played in television-friendly facilities and stadiums.
“People’s TV and Nigerian Television Authority will be telecasting star matches of the league each match day or weekend.”
Amaraizu disclosed that People’s TV, which provides Pay-Per-View television service, had dedicated one out of its 40 channels to NLO matches.
The NLO board director said NTA would also provide both cable and normal television coverage for the star matches in the league as well.
“The NLO management will ensure that all set standards for a hitch-free and successful league season are met before its commencement,” he said.
NAN reports that the 2017/2018 NLO season has been scheduled to commence on March 29.
Amaraizu, who is in charge of NLO activities in the South East, said the inspection of stadiums to be used for the league’s matches in the South East zone had also been concluded.
He added that the reports of the findings and appropriate recommendations on the inspection, which started on January 19, have been submitted to the NLO secretariat in Abuja.
