The Department of State Security Service is at present quizzing a former Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Ibrahim Shekarau, over his alleged involvement in the sponsorship of dreaded sect, Boko Haram.
A news flash on African Independent Television, which made this known, did not give further details.
Shekarau, who was a two-term governor between 2003 and 2011 in Kano State on the platform of the All Nigeria Peoples Party, was also the party’s presidential flag bearer in the 2011 presidential election.
Kano, the capital of Kano State, has come under several attacks of Boko Haram in the last three weeks.
The worst of the attack resulted in the death of about 200 persons.
Bombs and sophisticated weapons have been deployed by Boko Haram in Kano.
