The Secretary to the Adamawa State Government, Dr. Umar Bindir, has expressed disappointment with the attitude of some commissioners who he said were fond of taking files from their Ministry directly to the state Governor, Muhammad Jubrilla Bindow, for approvals.
The SSG spoke on Monday at the opening ceremony of an Executive Retreat organized for Commissioners and other top government officials in Yola.
Bindir also said some ministries could not produce records of projects they have executed.
Bindir said such moves by the Commissioners, which included not liaising with their Permanent Secretaries and Directors of Budget, was not in line with due process and must be stopped.
The feelers from many quarters in Adamawa State for long is that the relationship between the SSG and the Commissioners is getting sour based on how Bindir portrays himself as a perfect man.
Some have resorted to calling him Mr. Perfect.
A Commissioner in one of the Ministries, who pleaded for anonymity, said Bindir never treats their files at the needed time.
He was accused of keeping files for a long time and that even if he will at the end of the day, he wants them to be begging and petting him as if they are his political thugs.
He added that the SSG was frustrating the work of Governor Bindow.
The Commissioner said: “I have never seen it elsewhere, where an SSG wants to assume the office of the Governor at all times.
“It even surprises me the way he carries himself about, claiming he is Mr. Perfect and above even being corrected.”
