A student of Gaskia Secondary School, simply identified as Farouk, has stabbed his schoolmate, whose real name could not be obtained but popularly known as Snake, to death.
Farouk stabbed Snake to death on Wednesday.
While Farouk is a student of Senior Secondary 1, Snake is in the graduating class of SS3.
Farouk was said to have stabbed Snake with a dagger following a face-off over the continuous collection of the lunch money of the junior students by the graduating students.
The fight was said to have commenced on Tuesday, with Farouk attacking Snake on Wednesday morning.
The senior students are alleged to collect the money of the junior students to gamble.
Any of the junior student who objects is said to be punished.
Farouk was said to have fled the scene of the crime immediately he stabbed Snake and has not been seen since then.
The spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, Joseph Offor, confirmed the development.
Offor said: “A student was stabbed by his schoolmate today at the school, I can confirm to you.
“We got the report about 11:45 this morning and immediately after committing the crime, the boy fled the scene.
“The DPO Amukoko has commenced investigations and the matter would be referred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti for further investigations.
“No arrests have been made because the case is still at preliminary stage.”
