Sporadic shooting has been reported around the Government House in Rivers State.
This is coming on the heels of Tuesday’s attack on the state House of Assembly by five out of the 32 members of the House, supported by suspected militants.
According to available information, policemen were alleged to have also joined in the attack on the Government House.
The policemen were alleged to have shot several canisters of teargas into the premises of the Government House.
This led to panic in the area, resulting in people fleeing.
A tweet on the state government’s Twitter handle confirmed the development.
The state Governor, Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, has been at loggerheads with President Goodluck Jonathan since last year.
More details soon.
