The chase for Nigeria international, Joe Aribo is hotting up with Southampton now linked with a move for the Rangers midfielder.
The 25-year-old Nigerian international is entering the final 12 months of the Ibrox contract he agreed when he joined.
Aribo moved on a bargain £300,000 as he came out of his contract at Charlton in 2019.
Aribo is being tracked by a host of admirers, including Crytal Palace, as Scotzine reported last month, and his performance in the Europa League Final penalty kick shootout defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt in Seville in May impressed many onlookers.
Ibrox chiefs could be tempted to cash in on the playmaker to avoid losing him for free next summer, with clubs able to approach their star performer in January to arrange pre-contract deals.
Ralph Hasenhuttl, manager of the south coast club that has captured players from Celtic in recent times such as Virgil van Dijk, Fraser Forster, Victor Wanyama and Stuart Armstrong, is eager to lure Aribo to St Mary’s and Southampton are now favourites, according to the Daily Record.
Newly-promoted Nottingham Forrest has also been credited with an interest in the versatile ace.
Gers gaffer Giovanni van Bronckhorst has still resolve the situations regarding Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos who continue to be reported target for club throughout Europe.
