English Premier League side, Southampton, has joined the league of clubs seeking for the services of Nigerian international, Ogenyi Onazi.
Reports have it that the Saints are set to open a contractual talk with the player’s agent, Johnson Barnett, for a likely move in this summer transfer window.
Southampton manager, Ronald Koeman, is however frightened by Lazio’s contractual demands for the player, stating that contractual preliminary talks can be opened if the Nigerian’s valuation is below 10 million euro.
Meanwhile, Onazi is expected back in Lazio on Sunday from vacation after assisting Nigeria to Round of 16 at the just ended Brazil 2014 World Cup.
The Nigerian midfielder will meet with Barnett, who is a guru in England, to assess new offers on his table.
Barnett had previously managed Gareth Bale, Ashley Cole, among many others.
The Saints will have to beat Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Everton and Newcastle United to the signing of Onazi.
