South Africa Football Association denied further reports it had offered Stephen Keshi the job as coach of the senior men’s national football team.
“Reports coming through and carried out by several media outlets are quoting Mr Keshi alleging he has an offer on the table from SAFA,” read a SAFA statement released on Monday.
The statement added: “There is no iota of truth in this statement.”
“SAFA has not offered any coach the Bafana Bafana coaching job and we don’t take kindly to such rumours,” said SAFA President, Danny Jordaan, from Brazil.
“It is not true because SAFA has not entered into a discussion with any coach or a representative of any coach,” Jordaan added.
Earlier, Keshi had stated that he was talking with SAFA on the possibility of taking over the coaching job of the Bafana Bafana.
Gordon Igesund is in charge of the Bafana Bafana.
His contract expires at the end of August.
The Eagle Online had earlier reported that SAFA had opened discussions with Keshi, a development the coach confirmed after the exit of the Super Eagles from the World Cup.
SAFA had said then that it was not discussing with Keshi.
