A video has gone viral showing some soldiers grumbling over the ill-treatment meted to them by a Captain.
One of those who shared the video on Tuesday was former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode.
The former Minister of Culture shared the video on his Instagram page.
Fani-Kayode wrote: “Our boys deserve better.
“This is unacceptable.”
In the video, the soldiers, who are battling banditry in Zamfara and adjoining States, accused one of their Captains of sending them into an open field from an empty hall, where they resided.
The soldiers said the open field exposes them to reptiles, especially dangerous snakes, in the area.
One of the soldiers was also heard in the background saying the Captain chased all of them to sleep outside.
They also claimed that a snake bit a soldier on the head the previous day.
A further update on Twitter by one Don said claimed the Soldiers were of the 1 Brigade Garrison in Zamfara State.
Don, on Twitter, said they were withdrawn from the “bush” between May 7 and 8, 2021 into an empty hall camp, adding that the heavy rain of May 8 fell on them.
He then went on to name Captain JO Faloyin as being the one who allegedly chased them out of the hall, adding that they were now stranded with their luggage.
Don tweeted: “This is 1 BDE Gar Zamfara, they withdraw us from the bush, we came in on the 7-8 of May 2021, the hall camp are empty, the heavy rain that falls last night beat us, this morning Capt JO Faloyin came in and chase all the Soldiers outside, now troops are stranded with their loads.”
