Sodje brothers’ family lawyer, Nick Green, has promised to open a defence for his clients, Sam and Akpo Sodje, next week on the match-fixing allegation that was levelled the England-based footballers.
Barrister Green of Whitworth & Green Solicitors, exclusively told The Eagle Online on Tuesday that the accused deserved fair hearing by a competent court and the process is already in place.
He told The Eagle Online: “For us, match-fixing is a case that must be proven beyond every reasonable doubt.
“I have spoken with my client, so we would open a defence and also brief the media next week.”
Sam Sodje, who featured four times for the Super Eagles under Coach Amodu Shaibu, his other brothers, Steve and Akpo, and four others were arrested on Sunday night over match-fixing claims in England.
The former Portsmouth defender, Sam, was secretly filmed by The Sun undercover reporter while admitting fixing spots in the English Premier League, Championships, League One and the Brazil 2014 World Cup games.
