German engineering giant, Siemens, will slash a total of 7,800 jobs as a part of a global restructuring.
Out of this, 3,300 job cuts will occur in Germany, the company said on Friday.
The Head of Human Resources, Janina Kugel, said the company would shortly begin talks with workers’ unions in order to negotiate the terms of settlement.
The Chief Executive Officer, Joe Kaeser, first announced the restructuring in May.
“The company aims to slash 1 billion Euros from operating costs and reduce its divisions from 16 to nine,” Kaeser told journalists.
