Leicester City boss Craig Shakespeare is hopeful a deal to bring Kelechi Iheanacho to the club can be completed soon.
It was reported earlier this month that a deal for the Manchester City striker had been ‘agreed in principle’ for a fee that could rise to £25m.
Finalisation of the deal was reportedly being held up by contractual issues, including the possibility of a buy-back clause and a dispute over Iheanacho’s image rights.
With two weeks remaining until the Premier League season gets underway, Shakespeare admitted there was a deal of frustration, not just in getting an Iheanacho deal over the line but with the transfer market in general.
Shakespeare said of signing Iheanacho: “I’m hoping so, but I am like every other manager at the moment. I think we all find it frustrating but it is the current market.”
