The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, has called for synergy among the Federal, State and Local Governments to ensure national growth.
Mustapha made the call at the 2018 First Quarter meeting of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation with Secretaries to the Governments of the States.
Lawrence Ojabo, Director Information, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, stated this in a statement on Monday in Abuja.
The SGF was quoted as urging the Executive, Legislative and Judiciary arms of government to collaborate in the course of their jobs, as it would enhance socio-economic development in the country.
Ojabo said: “We must work together for the nation. The problem confronting the nation has no respect-for geographical boundaries or political affiliations.
“We, therefore, require collective efforts to surmount these challenges, to ensure peace, security, progress and prosperity for our people.
“For a country to develop and succeed all arms and tiers of government need to work together.
“We live in a world where collaboration and innovation play a central role in creating an enabling environment for political, social and economic growth.”
He said that the forum should deliberate and assess the implementation challenges of the National Social Investment Programme and the Anchor Borrowers Programmes of the Federal Government.
Also, Maryam Uwais, Special Adviser to the President on Social Investments, said that more than four million persons from various parts of the country had benefitted from NSIP since its inception in 2016.
She said the programme focused on ensuring equitable distribution of resources to vulnerable populations, including children, youths and women.
