The Lagos State Police Command has arrested seven men for allegedly raping a nine-year-old girl in the Ajegule area of the state.
The minor was discovered to have been raped by her parents after they noticed the awkward way she was walking.
The father of the girl said his daughter confessed that the men had been having carnal knowledge of her for over one month.
The father (name withheld), who resides at Odudwa Street, later told the police that his daughter confessed all to him after he threatened to flog her.
According to the victim’s father, six of the men live in the same residence with him, while the other suspect lives in the next compound.
He said the youngest of the suspects is 27.
He said her daughter disclosed that after the first man succeeded in the wicked act, he told others who also had sex with her in the same residence.
The minor also disclosed they usually threatened to tell her father that a man had sex with her if she did not succumb to their sexual demands.
Policemen attached to Ajegunle Police Station arrested the seven suspects at the weekend and detained them, while the girl was rushed to a private hospital at Ugbenwankwo Street, Ajegunle to ascertain her health condition.
