The Coal City of Enugu will be treated to complete entertainment and fun this Saturday as the fully integrated telecommunications company, Globacom, storms the 042 city with seven A-Listers musicians and five Nollywood icons in continuation of its flagship show, the Glo Mega Music Nationwide Tour.
The show, which kicked off in Awka, the Anambra State capital, on April 15, returns to the Eastern city in a grand style as three major artistes who cut their entertainment teeth in the city – Flavour, Phyno and Runtown – will be performing.
With two Nollywood damsels, Ebube Nwagbo and Uche Jombo, compering, the show is slated to hold at Golden Royal Hotel, Enugu at 4pm and will have three other Nollywood icons – Angela Okorie; Patience Ozokwor, aka Mama G; and Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD [ making celebrity guest appearances to spice up the ecstasy.
Announcing the Enugu show in Lagos during the week, Globacom, in a statement issued from its head office, said: “Enugu show is loaded and we are hopeful that our esteemed subscribers who will be thronging the venue of the show will have adequate value for their time.
“The artistes on the bill of Enugu show include Korede Bello, Runtown, Tuface, Timaya, Phyno, Flavour and Olamide. Enugu is very strategic to the Glo business and these artistes are ready in all ramifications to give all the people coming for the show world-class entertainment. Incidentally, three of the artistes, Runtown, Phyno and Flavour had their formative years in the city. For their fans in the city and beyond, the show affords them the rare opportunity of touching base with their icons.”
Speaking on the show, Flavour said: “I am very excited to go to Enugu. This is like going back to my roots and I cannot wait to see not only my fans in the city but those old folks we grew up together in Enugu. It is going to be a show like never before for all of us.”
Runtown and Phyno, who spoke separately on what their fans should expect at the show, declared that they had been looking forward to the show since the bookings were confirmed as it would be an home-coming venture for them.
Glo Mega Music Nationwide Tour is designed by Globacom to reward its subscribers across the country for their loyalty to the Glo brand over the years.
It is a free show, but to attend, subscribers have to use a credit of N2,000 for data or voice calls within a month.
Once subscribers meet this criterion, they are expected to send a text message: “MUSIC ENUGU,” to a short code 207 and they will get a free invite.
