The bags of a Senator, Babafemi Ojudu, and those of some other passengers on an Aero Contractors flight from Accra to Lagos were on Sunday ripped open at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos.
According to Ojudu, elected on the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria, the bags were, apparently, ransacked.
Ojudu said the discovery was made after the passengers had waited for over two hours for the bags at the conveyor belt in the arrival hall.
Apparently referring to the initiative of the Federal Government of Nigeria to turn around the country’s airports, Ojudu said: “What a turn around we are experiencing at our airports.”
Ojudu, who wrote on the wall of his social network, Facebook, said: “Had a taste of the ugly side of our country this evening.
“Flew in on Aero Contractor from Accra.
“After waiting for two hours for my luggage, the bag came out ripped opened and ransacked.
“A lady had the same experience.
“Don’t know what they have stolen from the luggage yet.
“What a turn around we are experiencing at our airports.”
