Senate on Tuesday referred the request of President Goodluck Jonathan for approval to obtain $1 billion loan to fight insurgency to its Committee on Finance, which is expected to report back in one week.
It could be recalled that before the Senate went on recess, President Jonathan had sent a request for approval of $1 billion loan to Senate in order to fight insurgency.
However, at the resumption of Upper Chamber Plenary, the letter was read on the floor of the Senate before it was referred to the Committee on Finance for further legislation.
Meanwhile, President Goodluck Jonathan has sought approval of Senate for confirmation of Appointment of Justice Chima Centus Nweze as Justice of Supreme Court of Nigeria.
Also, Mr President sought the confirmation of Dr. Jonah Magudu as Commissioner, Federal Civil Service Commission and confirmation of Director-General Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Captain Muhktar Usman by the Senate.
