The National Assembly on Thursday passed the 2013 budget presented to it by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
The House of Representatives, the first to pass the budget.
The House left out the budget proposal for the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The House has said that until Jonathan throws out the Director General of the Sec, Arumna Oteh, it would not consider its budget for 2013.
The budget, as passed by the Reps, is made up of N387.9 billion for statutory transfers and N591.7 billion for debt services.
It also contains N2.3 trillion as recurrent non-debt expenditure and N1.6 trillion for contribution to the development fund for capital expenditure for the year ending December 31, 2013.
All unutilised capital expenditure in the 2012 budget has been rolled over to form part of the 2013 Appropriation Act.
The benchmark for oil for the budget was put at $79.
The Deputy Speaker, Emeka Ihedioha, who presided over Thursday’s session, enjoined all standing committees of the House to carry out their oversight functions in order to ensure the full implementation of capital projects.
With the Senate following suit on Thursday with the passage of the budget, the two arms of the National Assembly will anytime from now harmonize their positions.
