Senator Shehu Sani has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over allegations of extortion.
Sani was accused of fleecing ASD Motors of $20,000.
Sani was accused of having collected the money with a promise to pass it on to the Acting Chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu.
The former lawmaker represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District between 2011 and 2015.
