Rangers International FC will soon seal a deal with Select of Denmark to produce over 5,000 replica of Rangers’ jerseys and other gift items for sell to the public.
Rangers’ Marketing Manager, Ignatius Okafor, made the disclosure to the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Enugu.
Okafor said that the deal would be signed at the weekend with the company’s representatives who were already in the country.
He said that the deal would boost the Internally Generated Revenue of the club in 2016/2017 football season.
He noted that the club would not rely solely on the state government but would go into partnerships and businesses that would generate funds.
Okafor said: “We are signing a new contract with the sponsors of our jersey, Select of Denmark, alias ‘Players Choice’ in order to produce replicas of our jerseys and other gift items for our teeming fans.
“We are looking at re-producing a minimum of 5,000 to about 10,000 jerseys.
“As well as thousands of gift items, including bangles, caps, hand-gears, mufflers and key holders among others.
“All these at the end of the day will increase our IGR and reposition the finances of the club to meet its increasing financial demands.”
Okafor, who did not disclose the cost of the project, noted that it would be made known to the public when the products were to be sold.
The marketing manager, however, said the club’s marketing department was open to those who might wish to do business or partner with the club.
NAN reports that Rangers would go through huge financial expenditures this season as the club would represent Nigeria in the African Football Confederation Champions League.
Rangers, who are the 2015/2016 NPFL champions, will play its first match in the 2016/2017 CAF League in February.
