A security guard, Yakubu Nuhu, 45, on Wednesday appeared before a Tinubu Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing parts of an industrial generator, worth N600,000, property of his employer.
The defendant, who is facing three counts of conspiracy, stealing and failure to perform his duty, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, ASP Ben Ekundayo, told the court that Nuhu committed the offences on Jan. 19 at 1:00 a.m., at 52 Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.
He said that the accused, a security guard, conspired with others to steal parts of an industrial generator such as control module and an alternator, all valued at N600,000.
Ekundayo said that the defendant failed to perform his job as a security guard but conspired with others, still at large, to steal the generator parts, property of Inside Out Venture.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 287 (7), 410, and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, O.O. Oshin, admitted the defendant to a N100, 000 bail, with one surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case until May 12 for mention.
