Several persons, including engineers of the Pipelines and Products Marketing Company, were injured on Saturday when a pipeline on which they were carrying out repairs exploded.
The pipeline, owned by the PPMC, a subsidiary of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, exploded around Adeje in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.
The pipeline supplies products to adjoining states, especially the PPMC depot in Benin, the capital of Edo State.
Though no one was confirmed dead as at press time, scored were said to be injured.
Theinjured were taken to the Delta State University teaching Hospital, Oghara, Ethiope West Local Government Area for treatment.
