School proprietor charged with raping minor

The police on Tuesday in Akure, Ondo State arraigned a 25-year-old primary school proprietor, Adeyemi Ayomide, for allegedly raping a minor.
Ayomide is facing charges of rape and attempted rape of a minor at an Akure Magistrates’ Court.
The prosecutor, ASP Isah Atangbe, said the accused committed the offences on November 6 at the premises of the Voice of the Lord Nursery and Primary School, Oshinle Quarters, Akure.
Atangbe told the court that the accused had unlawful carnal knowledge of an 11-year-old girl in the school.
“The accused also tried to defile another nine-year-old girl in the school by removing her underwear,” he alleged.
Atangbe said the offences contravened Sections 357, 358 and 360 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ondo State, 2006.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge.
In his ruling, the Chief Magistrate, Akin Akintoye, granted the school proprietor bail in sum of N50,000, with two sureties in like sum.
Akintoye adjourned the case to February 4 for further hearing.
