Roma are expected to make an approach for Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri in the coming weeks.
The 60-year-old Italian has struggled to convince supporters at Chelsea that he is the man to take them forward but he remains popular in Serie A.
In his first season in charge, Sarri has led his side to the Carabao Cup final and a guaranteed spot in the Champions League.
The club are also in the Europa League semi-finals, level at 1-1 with Eintracht Frankfurt heading into the second leg at Stamford Bridge.
Roma want Sarri to replace Claudio Ranieri in the top job with club sixth in Serie A, three points from fourth with three games to play.
Another possible option, Antonio Conte, has intimated he is holding out for another job.
