Al Nasr of Saudi Arabia star and the Nigerian Footballer of the Year, Ahmed Musa retained his place as Super Eagles’ stand-in captain in this afternoon’s AFCON 2019 qualifier agsinst South Africa in Johannesburg.
Musa was picked alongside Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho to lead the Eagles attack.
Enyimba FC’s Ikechukwu Ezenwa was favoured in goal ahead of South Africa based Daniel Akpeyi.
The goalkeeper will get cover from Leon Balogun, William Troost-Ekong, Jamilu Collins and Kenneth Omeruo, while Oghenekaro Etebo, John Ogu and Samuel Kalu take charge of Nigeria’s midfield.
The substitutes are Daniel Akpeyi, Isaac Success, Semi Ajayi, Bryan Idowu, Henry Onyekuru and Samuel Chukwueze.
The tie is slated to kick off at 2pm Nigeria time at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
