Super Eagles’ manager, Gernot Rohr, has been nominated to vie for the Confederation of African Football Coach of the Year award.
Rohr will face stiff competition for the gong against Pharaoh’s of Egypt handler Hector Cuper, Hugo Broos (Cameroon), L’Hussein Amoutta (Wydad Athletic Club) and Mihayo Kazembe (TP Mazembe).
The Franco-German coach tutored side, the Super Eagles, were also shortlisted for the National Team of the Year award alongside Cameroon, Egypt, Mali U-17 and Zambia U-20.
Nigeria for Russia 2018 World Cup with one game to spare.
Nigeria’s Super Falconets also made the shortlist for the Women’s National Team of the Year award.
They have Ghana U-20, Kenya, South Africa and Zimbabwe to battle for the prize.
In the other categories released by the continental body on Monday, Nigeria and Dalian Quanjian of China Asisat Oshoala will battle Chrestina Kgatlana (South Africa & UWC Ladies), Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene(Cameroon & Rossyanka), Rutendo Makore (Zimbabwe & Black Rhinos) and Tabitha Chawinga (Malawi & Kvarnsvedens) to retain her title.
The winners will be decided by votes from the members of the CAF Technical & Development Committee, CAF Media Experts Panel and Independent Media and TV Consultants.
Meanwhile, only members of the CAF Referees’ Committee will elect the Referee of the Year.
The Awards Gala will take place on Thursday, 4 January 2018 in Accra, Ghana.
