Following the successful annual convention of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, the church would be holding the annual youth convention, themed: “His Power and Glory,” from September 30 to October 5, 2019 at the Redemption Camp.
It is expected to have over two million young adults and youth from all walks of life and from across the nation in attendance.
In a statement signed by the National Youth Pastor, Pastor Precious Akingbade, he hinted that preparations are underway to cater to the needs of the teeming young adults and youth, including free meals and accommodation, during the week-long convention, which would have amongst other ministers of God the General Overseer Pastor E. A. Adeboye; Pastor Peter Amenkhienan, Assistant General Overseer Young Adults and Youth; and Pastor J. F. Odesola, Assistant General Overseer, Admin and Personnel.
According to Akingbade, the theme for this year’s Annual Youth Convention was inspired by the Almighty God and declared by the General Overseer during RCCG’s Annual Convention in August.
The theme: “His Power and Glory,” clearly gives a hint of what to expect.
According to him, it is expected that this year’s convention will dwarf the 2018 edition in every aspect: attendance, impact and as well attendant miracles that will follow.
Akingbade highlighted other programmes and events that have been lined up for the weeklong convention amongst them is the sports festival – a sporting competition amongst the young adults and youth of the church, which would hold on October 1 to coincide with the nation’s independence day celebration as well as The Agenda, a thought leadership programme set to discuss pertinent issues concerning the country and The Kingdom Hackathon, an innovative gathering of young people to use technology as a tool to solving societal problems.
