Emeka Inyama, the Chairman of the Nigeria National League, on Thursday in Abuja announced the exclusion of Ranchers Bees FC of Kaduna from the league.
Inyama told newsmen at a press conference that the decision was reached at a meeting of the league board on Wednesday in Abuja.
He said the development was because the club had not registered to play in the 2014/2015 league season.
“The Board noted that Ranchers Bees FC have not registered to play in the 2014/2015 league season and therefore can no longer be part of the league,” Inyama said.
The league board chairman also pointed out that Ranchers Bees FC had sued to court the Nigeria Football Federation and the NNL.
The suit was in connection with the award of three points and three goals to Kwara United in a Week 30 match of the 2013/2014 season.
In the same vein, Inyama urged Sokoto United FC to settle their differences with the Sokoto State Football Association.
He said: “The board has given Sokoto United and their Football Association till July 18 to resolve the differences, which have prevented the team from playing in the league.
“The team is expected to come back and tell us if they will now play and then we can reschedule all their matches to midweek.
“The league is ending in the second week of August, so they will have to play midweek matches if they have to resume with us.
“But, if not, they will summarily be withdrawn and expelled from the league.”
