Super Eagles Assistant Coach, Salisu Yusuf, says building quality league in Nigeria is necessary to guarantee better and attractive football.
Yusuf said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja while speaking on ways elevating Nigeria’s football.
He said the League Management Company could transform the country’s economy through viable policies aimed at elevating the league.
The coach, who described Nigeria as nation gifted with football talents, said the talents needed grooming.
He said: “They should groom our players both home and abroad to bring out the best in them.
“I like how they are training U-16 team now and preparing them for the future.”
Yusuf said the team would go places with the ongoing preparations and blending.
According to him, they will do well if they meet any team in future based on their years of training and being together.
The Nigeria Professional Football League in July in collaboration with Arsenal and Star Bottling Company organised a coaching clinic for Nigerian coaches.
The clinic was designed for capacity building on the part of coaches aimed at building a virile league.
