Brazil winger Antony says he and his teammates are suffering from sickness due to the air conditioning being used at World Cup stadiums.
The 22-year-old is yet to start in Qatar, with the Manchester United forward coming off the bench in both group stage matches.
Due to the intense heat in Qatar, most stadiums have air conditioning units installed into their architecture.
The system shoots out cold air at different speeds across the pitch from different angles.
Antony, who has missed training twice while in the Gulf nation, believes his health is being affected by the units.
And it’s not just the Man United star who has suffered from a bout of sickness, with Neymar currently suffering with flu.
Speaking to ESPN Brazil, ex-Ajax star Antony has stated he is still recovering, but remains available to boss Tite for their upcoming match against Cameroon.
He said: “It was a bit difficult. I ended up having a bad feeling there for a few days that complicated me a bit.
“I’m recovering well and getting 100 per cent. It was more of a sickness, throat.
“It was the air conditioning (in the stadiums).
”Not only me, but other players also had a cough and a bad throat.
“It’s very difficult for me to get sick, but I’m happy to be an important part of the team.
“Whenever you need Antony, I’m available.”
Spanish duo Alvaro Morata and Dani Carvajal have also had issues as a result of the air conditioning and meant they were on the bench for their opener against Costa Rica.
Though the machinery at Spain’s hotel is claimed to have caused the problem, not the system inside stadiums.
