The spate of false promises made during campaign rallies by politicians have become worrisome to the electorates who get disappointed when these promises are not fulfilled.
This unpopular trend, if not checked, may cause the teeming populace to lose confidence in certain individuals and may result in voters apathy.
In this week’s episode of the Glo-sponsored sitcom, Professor Johnbull, this cunning behavior by unscrupulous politicians is ridiculed.
Titled: “Campaign Promises,” the episode, which will air on Tuesday on NTA Network, NTA International on DSTV Channel 251 and NTA on StarTimes at 8:30pm, critically x-rays certain ideologies such as ethnicity, political manifesto, acrimony and campaign funding.
Watch Olaniyi, played by Yomi Fash-Lanso, and Etuk (Imeh Bishop) lock horns in a tussle for the chairmanship of the hospitality board in their locality.
The episode will also feature other regulars of the sitcom such as Professor Johnbull (Kanayo O. Kanayo), Caro (Mercy Johnson Okojie) Churchill (Jnr. Pope Odonwodo), Flash (Stephen Odimgbe), Mai Doya (Funky Mallam), Samson (Ogus Baba), Abadnego (Martins Nebo), Ufoma (Bimbo Akintola) and Jumoke (Bimbo Kosoko).
The exclusive sponsor, Globacom, in a statement issued in Lagos on Monday encouraged viewers to tune in to the programme as it promises to be entertaining and educative.
Watch a repeat broadcast on the same channels on Friday at the same time.
