The Primate of the Church Of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, the Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh, has been elected as the new Chairman of the Global Anglican Future Conference Primates Council.
Okoh was elected at a meeting of GAFCON Primates, which held in Nairobi, Kenya at the end of last month.
He succeeds the Most Rev. Eliud Wabukala, the Primate of the Anglican Church of Kenya.
A statement signed by the General Secretary of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Venerable Israel Kelue, said Primate Okoh’s election was a testament to his exemplary leadership in ensuring that the “Anglican Church remains faithful to Christ and Bible in its teachings and practices”.
Primate Okoh had earlier served as the Chairman of the Theological Resource Group of GAFCON.
