Despite reports he’d be included, Cristiano Ronaldo has been left out of the Portugal squad to face Italy in the Nations League.
The Azzurri must beat Fernando Santos’ side to have any hope of advancing to the finals, and it was rumoured the Juventus man would return for the crunch game.
Santos has named his squad on Thursday afternoon though, with Ronaldo not included.
His Bianconeri teammate Joao Cancelo is in the squad, as is Napoli’s Mario Rui and Joao Mario of Inter.
Portugal squad for Italy and Poland are Rui Patricio, Beto, Claudio Ramos, Cedric Soares, Joao Cancelo, Jose Fonte, Luis Neto, Pepe, Ruben Dias, Mario Rui, Raphael Guerreiro, André Gomes, Bruno Fernandes, Danilo Pereira, Joao Mario, Pizzi, Renato Sanches, Ruben Neves, William Carvalho.
Others are Bernardo Silva, Bruma, Gonçalo Guedes, Rafa, André Silva and Eder.
