The Kano State Government says it has concluded plans to recall about 37 students it was sponsoring to study nursing in an Egyptian University.
This was contained in a statement by Mallam Usman Bello, the Director Press in the Office of the Deputy Governor.
Bello said the reason was due to poor performance of the students.
The statement revealed that early this year, the Faculty of Nursing at Mansoura University had sent a report to the state government stating that 37 out of the 154 students sent to the University were at the risk of withdrawal from the school.
According to the statement, the report indicated that the students scored below 2.0 GPA for two semesters of 2015/2016 academic year.
It was further stressed that based on the report, the state decided to return the students to enable them come home and pursue another academic programme.
