The police on Thursday foiled an attempt by a Pro-Biafra group, the Biafra Zionists Federation, to overrun the Enugu State Broadcasting Service, Enugu, Enugu State.
The group, led by Benjamin Onwuka, a UK-trained lawyer, stormed the ESBS at about 6am.
It was gathered that the aim of the BFZ was to announce the formation of a Biafra Republic.
The group had on March 8 this year also attacked the Enugu State Government House, holding the place hostage for over four hours.
The BFZ on Thursday reportedly killed a policeman and wounded another.
The policemen killed were said to be part of a patrol team that was drafted to stop the BFZ from taking over the radio and television station.
A member of the BZF was also said to have been shot dead.
Onwuka and over 10 other members of the BFZ were arrested by the police.
