Police detectives, working round the clock digging to unearth more evidences against the Nigerian billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudi Dumeme Onuamadike, aka Evans, have traced 162 phones lines to him.
Earlier, the police had found 126 phone lines belonging to Evans, but later found additional 36, bringing all the phones lines to 162.
According to police sources, among the 162 phones lines, Evans had one dedicated line, which he uses in calling beloved ones.
Those he calls on the dedicated line are his favourite mistress, identified as Amaka.
He also calls his sister, friend and mother on that particular phone line.
The police said that it took them several weeks to analyse the phone lines and began to make arrest.
The police are also analysing three of his phones, valued at over N5 million.
Two of them are Vertu and the third is a Thuraya Satellite phone.
The Thuraya is one of the phones that terrorists use because it defies tracking. Evans said that he uses the Thuraya for negotiation anywhere, even in forests.
Evans claimed to have bought of his Vertu phones for N2.6 million, the second for N2.4 million and the Thuraya for N800,000.
It’s clear the market values for these phones.
He disclosed that the phones cannot be tracked.
Detectives revealed that the Thuraya phone is the type used by the Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekaru, and other terrorists to evade tracking and arrest.
A police source: “The Thuraya phone can’t be tracked. It can get signal anywhere, either under the sea or jungle. It works with satellite and it doesn’t make use of SIM card.”
