Information filtering out from the Lagos State Governor’s Office in Alausa has it that policemen have used teargas to disperse protesting students of the Lagos State University, Ojo.
The students, who have been a constant feature at the Governor’s Office in the last few days, have been protesting the astronomical rise in their school fees.
They vowed they would not vacate the premises until government reversed the increase in fees.
However, on Tuesday, policemen applied force to disperse the students, including the use of teargas.
The government had explained that the matter was before the State Executive Council for consideration and that the students had to wait for the outcome of consideration of the report by the SEC.
The students, it was learnt, are, however, strategising on how to regroup.
They have vowed to sustain their protest until the government changes its position on the issue.
