The Oba Market Divisional Police Headquarters in Benin, Edo State on Wednesday distributed free face masks to members of the public as part of the efforts to support the fight against the deadly Coronavirus pandemic.
The said police station was among the first to construct a water basin cistern at the station’s entrance for hand washing at the earliest reported outbreak of the virus in Nigeria.
The Public Relations Officer of Edo Civil Society Organisations, Osazee Edigin, said the Divisional Police Officer, whose name was simply given as Osayande, has shown a different perception of the Nigeria Police Force in these contributions towards the dislodgement of the virus in Edo State.
Edigin added: “Other government institutions should emulate this novel disposition worthy of commendation.”
