The Lagos State Police Command said its attention has been drawn to a message making the rounds on social media of a planned General Raiding by the Police on Thursday and Friday nights from 8pm throughout Lagos State.
The reaction of the Lagos State Police command to the development was contained in a statement on Wednesday night by its spokesman, DSP Bala Elkana.
Elkana said the information is not only false but mischievous, calculated towards creating fear on the minds of the people.
He said: “Lagosians are enjoined to disregard the message and treat it as fake news.
“Avoid the temptation of forwarding such mischievous message.”
Elkana said the Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, Hakeem Odumosu, is totally committed towards providing safe and secured environment for Lagosians to enjoy more of the night life provided by the State, adding: “The Command has emplaced round the clock security across the State.”
