The Police on Friday warned the public against paying money to any individual or group of persons to secure recruitment into the Force.
The Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, Dolapo Badmos, a Superintendent of Police, gave the warning in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos.
NAN reports that the online recruitment into the police for school certificate holders, national diplomas and graduates opened on April 1 and would last for six weeks.
“No one should pay any money to obtain the form because it is available free online,” the police spokesperson said, warning the public against paying for enlistment into the Force.
Badmos said the recruitment form to be completed for the exercise was available on the Nigeria Police Force and the Police Service Commission: websites http://www.npf.gov.ng and http://www.psc.gov.ng, http://www.npfcareers2016.net/.
The PSC had earlier in a statement warned those in charge of the recruitment not to compromise the integrity of the exercise.
The statement, signed by Ikechukwu Ani, PSC’s Head of Media and Public Affairs, warned that any official involved in misconduct during the exercise would be sanctioned according to Public Service Rules.
Ani said: “The staff must live above board as the commission was ready to make a huge success of the presidential assignment.
“Candidates are warned against indulging or inducing the staff as anyone caught would be arrested and prosecuted.”
